US National Team

The Men's National Team played today against El Salvador and tied the game after falling behind 2-0. Today's game showed that certain deficiencies (i.e., Beasley looking out of place) continue to haunt the team under Bradley's leadership. If the team continues down this path, they will face serious problems at the World Cup if qualification is secured, even worse than the ones faced under Arena's leadership.

I believe that it is time for the US Federation to start asking serious questions about Bradley's strategy.

UPDATED: 15 Of 20 Top AIG Bonus Recipients Returned The Money

Fix the problem? I am sorry but that's a ridiculous statement given the fact that the people who got these so-called "retention bonuses" were the ones who created the mess in the first place. That's like putting out cookies and milk on the table for thief who breaks into your house.

Seven Basic Steps to Maintaining a Good Relationship:

I came across this wonderful list of steps on how to maintain a good relationship:
  1. Be aware of what you and your partner want for yourselves and what you want from the relationship
  2. Let one another know what your needs are.
  3. Realize that your partner will not be able to meet all of your needs. Some of these needs will have to be met outside the relationship.
  4. Be willing to negotiate and compromise on the things you want from one another.
  5. Do not demand that a partner change to meet all your expectations. Work to accept the differences that you see between your ideal and the reality.
  6. Try to see things from the other's point of view. This doesn't mean that you must agree with one another, but rather that you can expect yourself and your partner to understand and respect your differences, your points of view and your separate needs.
  7. Where critical differences exist in your expectations, needs, opinions or views, try to negotiate.

Today's EPL Results

It is just amazing that Manchester United has lost two (2) games in a row. Fulham blew wide open the race by defeating Man U. Unfortunately, Chelsea was unable to close the gap after falling to Tottenham. It is now up to Liverpool to catch up to Man U tomorrow when they face Aston Villa.

Stoke City beat Middlesbrough, thus distancing itself from the relegation. But Middlesbrough remains in the zone.

Newcastle gloom was deepened by Arsenal. Newcastle now faces the real threat of being relegated to the Championship.

West Brom continues its fight to get out of the relegation zone as it tied today's game with Bolton, although Wes needed to collect all three (3) points. But one (1) point is better than nothing at all.

The one positive aspect of all is the fact that all teams have two (2) weeks to regroup as next weekend is reserved for international qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup.

This Morning's Rumor

I guess it is that time of the year when rumors (chismes) start swirling around. This morning I read that Real Madrid (RM) might make a bid for Steven Gerrrard of Liverpol. Is this credible? Well, we just do not know but will see what happens once the English Premiere League Season is over. Oh by the way, Xabi Alonso has been thrown in the mix as well.

Landon Donovan is Back

It is good news for the LA Galaxy that Landon Donovan (LD) is back. Bad news for LD that Bayern decided against retaining him. There was no doubt that LD would have to fight for a place in the starting line-up. However, it is unfortunate and unprofessional the way how the Chairman of the Bayern handled the whole LD situation.

There is still a belief that LD is still young and can have another try at European football next summer. I have always believed that his style is better suited for La Liga. There is no question in my mind and I have no hesitation to say and state that teams such as Osasuna or Numancia, assuming they avoid relegation, can greatly benefit from LD's skills and speed.

The Beckham Saga

The LA Galaxy has confirmed that it has reached an agreement with AC Milan allowing David Beckham (DB) to stay on loan with Milan until the end of the Italian Season. Once the season is over, DB is expected to take a few days off and rejoin his Galaxy teammates for the rest of the MLS Season. At which point, DB can exercise his contract clause to become a free agent so he can join AC Milan on a permanent basis.

It is no mystery that a lot of decisions impacting the LA Galaxy made by AEG has less than brilliant, intelligent or even well reasoned. No argument there. However, this time around we have to give credit to AEG (Galaxy owner) for standing its ground in this DB matter.

AC Milan thought that given the LA Galaxy status as a football club at the international level, AEG would bow to their wishes and could be bullied into accepting the proposed deal of three millions Pounds ($5,000,000 approx.). This deal was outright rejected by AEG as insufficient and possibly insulting (my own emphasis).

Some individuals, especially those on blogs and sport boards, believed that a "low level" club such as the Galaxy was insignificant to play hard ball. What those individuals failed to see was that, beyond his football skills, DB is also a money-making machine. And AEG treated this whole saga as a business deal. What Milan failed to realize was the fact that American business people can and are shrew when it comes to making money.

Will there be negative backslash from the fans against DB? You bet! Fans felt from the beginning that DB did not act professionally when expressing his desire to stay in Italy. There has an overall feeling that he has looked down on the League. Whether this is true or not, DB has lot of fence mending to do when he comes back.

Dating Sites

In the last few years, the Internet has taken over our daily routine, life. It has enabled us to stay in touch with our loved ones, friends and even meet new people. No question this means of communication has been one of best technological advances in our lifetime. It has made our life easier, including our love life.

Not long ago (hopefully we still remember those times), we used to frequent nightclubs, bars and even places of worship to meet our ideal mate. But that is now pretty much a thing of the past. Everywhere we look, there are new dating sites springing up. Some of them are general and some are very specific, catering to certain segments of the population-- single parents, African-Americans, Latinos, Asians, Catholics, Jewish and so forth.

Some sites promise to find you love in six months or they give you another six months for free. Sounds familiar? It should be.

It is true that they help weed out all bad elements or unwanted, undesirable people. But are these sites truly effective? I believe they are. However, they also tend to attract individuals who happen to be less truthful, flaky. The sites also attract quality people.

Just my thoughts. Kind of late. If this post makes no sense, I will edit it and re-write it.
